To me, this is one of the worst sites on the internet. It is highly abused both in the positive reviews which are frequently written by the innkeeper and by the negative reviews which are frequently written by the competitor of the inn being reviewed. You will notice that the inns frequently get either 1 or 5 stars. Don't seem to get too many 2,3, or 4 stars which is telling me that a high percentage are being faked. I think as the traveling public starts to get burned by these fake reviews, they will stop using the site. Of course, it is all about the ads revenue and the total number of people visiting the site. Accuracy is not too much of a factor.
Our inn has 5 stars on Tripadvisor, but they are all real reviews. I'm sure that there are innkeepers out there who do fake reviews, but don't assume that all properties with only 5 star reviews are fake. It just means a disgruntled guest/employee/competitor hasn't yet slammed them and that they are keeping the majority of their guests very happy.
If you can't find the directory you want on this page, use the 'SEARCH BLOG' feature in the navigation bar at the top of this page to find it.
How to add or read comments for a directory listing
Find the directory you want (see above) . You will see something like "Posted by Happy Innkeeper at 10/14/2006 09:25:00 AM1 comments" at the bottom of the post. To add or read comments, click on the "comments" tag. A new window will popup showing all current comments and at the bottom a place for you to add your own comments. Comments may be added anonymously if so desired. For posting guidelines click here
